Airbus has chosen Scaleway as the provider of a cloud infrastructure designed to modernize a range of business applications while integrating AI-powered capabilities.
Airbus had launched a tender to identify a supplier able to combine robust cloud capabilities, European operational control, legal security, and strategic autonomy for its sensitive applications and its industrial data.
Scaleway will deliver a platform to support applications spanning aircraft design, engineering, industrial production, and the company’s operations.
According to Airbus, hosting these systems in a European cloud environment should strengthen the protection of its intellectual property and its industrial data, while ensuring the continuity of its aeronautics operations worldwide.
“The fact that the Mistral models are already deployed on Scaleway’s infrastructure will allow us to accelerate our AI approach,” said Catherine Jestin, Chief Digital Officer at Airbus.
Airbus will migrate around 70 critical applications to Scaleway by the end of 2028. At most, the program could cover up to 900 applications over the next five to six years.
