Defense AI: Airbus Secures a €50 Million Contract

Airbus advances another step in the defense arena. The European aerospace giant has just signed a €50 million contract with the Ministry’s Agency for Defense Artificial Intelligence (AMIAD) to embed AI technologies into French military systems.

Spationav, the first target of modernization

The initial phase of this agreement will concentrate on upgrading Spationav, France’s maritime surveillance system. The objective is to incorporate artificial intelligence to process satellite data, enabling faster and more precise analysis of the information collected.

Future applications are expected to extend into strategic domains such as intelligence, cybersecurity, and the management of military telecommunications networks.

France aims to centralize all data gathered by sensors spread across satellites, radars and drones. This integrated approach seeks to offer a unified, real-time picture of the modern battlefield, where information becomes as pivotal a resource as weaponry itself.
