HSBC has entered into a multiyear agreement with Mistral AI to integrate generative artificial intelligence tools across the bank as a whole.
HSBC will deploy Mistral’s enterprise-grade models along with their future updates on a self-hosted infrastructure. This approach is designed to blend the bank’s internal technological capabilities with Mistral’s expertise in crafting AI models.
The two companies will collaborate on developing AI solutions that span multiple use cases, including financial analysis, multilingual translation, risk assessment, and personalized communications with clients.
According to HSBC, these tools could significantly reduce the time employees spend on routine tasks; for instance, credit and financing teams will be able to analyze complex, large-volume dossiers more quickly.
HSBC already operates hundreds of AI use cases worldwide, notably in fraud detection, transaction monitoring, compliance, and customer service. The bank believes the agreement with Mistral AI will accelerate its innovation cycles and enable the faster deployment of new AI-powered features.
