Simplon Acquires Wild Code School

Placed in receivership in April, the Wild Code School has been acquired by Simplon. The Paris Commercial Court validated the takeover. The bidding offer was selected for its ability to preserve as many jobs as possible (nearly 40 out of 100) and to guarantee the continuity of client contracts. The Wild Code School will keep its brand identity and will be led by a new chief executive, Mehdi Salim, who had previously been in charge of international affairs at Simplon.

Simplon, a longtime player in the social and solidarity economy (ESUS accreditation), bases its digital training model on inclusion, pedagogical innovation, and free access for learners thanks to public funding or corporate support. By contrast, the Wild Code School built a more traditional model, relying on individual funding (CPF, self-financing), addressing a public largely composed of adults aged 25 to 35 in career transition.

“Between Simplon and the Wild Code School, there is a genuine complementarity of values, audiences, and models. This takeover marks a structural step in our growth strategy: it allows us to consolidate our position in digital training, broaden our scope, and accelerate our development,” explains Véronique Saubot, Chief Executive of Simplon.

“This rapprochement enables the formation of a group of 270 employees, with an objective of €40 million in annual turnover by 2028. It also paves the way for diversifying revenue streams, including public funding, individual contributions, corporate partnerships, and the development of strategic certifications.”

“From a pedagogical standpoint, the professional title of Data Analyst registered with France Compétence by the Wild Code School represents a high-potential revenue asset in the years ahead, complementary to the certifications held by Simplon,” emphasises the buyer.

Founded in 2013, Wild Code School joined in 2022 a European consortium comprising three SALT bootcamps (Sweden-based), Spiced Academy and Neue Fische (Germany). In 2023, it reported losses exceeding €5 million.
