Sovereign Cloud: Blue Acquires Openhost

Blue, a sovereign cloud operator, announces the acquisition of Openhost, a Nantes-based company specializing in Microsoft 365 and Azure solutions.

This move will enhance Blue’s hybrid cloud offering, which blends private hosting in its new Nantes data center with the option to overflow to the public Microsoft Azure cloud.

The acquisition, which brings 13 Openhost employees who are Microsoft-certified, adds a team adept at orchestrating hybrid architectures. These capabilities cover private workloads hosted in Blue’s Nantes data center (ISO 27001-certified and a Health Data Hosting provider) and an on-premise overflow to the public Microsoft Azure cloud as needed.

Blue aims to reach €55 million in revenue in 2025, up from €45 million in 2024, with the opening of its new data center in Nantes by the end of 2025, in addition to its Rennes data center.
