The 5 most epic celebrity voices we wish could guide us on Waze

If you thought getting stuck in traffic was boring, you clearly haven’t tried changing your Waze voice to something that’ll have you giggling at every turn. Waze is, hands down, the most entertaining navigation app out there. From customizable avatars for a bit of instant recognition to a soundboard of voices more eccentric than a parade of ducklings in superhero costumes, Waze has been brightening the daily commute. Yet, even with their lineup, we can’t help but wish for a few more epic celebrity voices to join the ride. Ready to dream a little? Here are the top five voices we desperately want to guide us on Waze!

1. Mario – Let’s a-go… to your destination!

  • The smash hit of the Super Mario Bros. movie has us all wishing we could have everyone’s favorite plumber directing us across town.
  • Imagine the iconic Italian-accented Mario chirping from your smartphone, “Turn left-a, here we go!”
  • Pierre Tessier’s more subdued interpretation would work too, but nothing matches that signature Super Mario energy to spice up your next drive.
  • Fans of gaming already got Master Chief from Halo months ago—why not finish the job with Mario?

2. Geny G – The Cult Internet Sensation

  • If your first reaction is “Geny who?”, consider yourself lucky: you haven’t spent hours in the strange corners of the internet. The character Geny G from Nabilla’s Hollywood Girls may have faded from TV, but online? She’s become a legend.
  • Portrayed by Shauna Sand, Geny G brings sassy punchlines and a distinctly American accent that could turn a tedious traffic jam into a comedy show.
  • If you can spot this star by voice alone, we salute you. Otherwise, let’s all hope for some fabulous Geny G GPS wisdom lighting up our dashboards soon.

3. Son Goku (Child version) – Pure Nostalgia Attack

  • Just imagine your route narrated by the inimitable Brigitte Lecordier, the voice of child Son Goku.
  • While adult Goku’s voice isn’t quite as iconic, the child version hits fans right in the feels, especially if you spent your childhood with Dragon Ball reruns or discovered Goku more recently via Fortnite.
  • It’s the ideal excuse for dropping catchphrases every chance you get. Every wrong turn could become a training montage!

4. Eric Cartman – For a (Very) Grown-Up Audience

  • For those Wazers rolling kid-free, how about a not-so-politically-correct option?
  • Eric Cartman from South Park might be the show’s most subtle young philosopher (or not), and we can only imagine the stream of adult-only commentary as he guides you through city chaos.
  • It promises a big dose of good humor—and maybe a crash course in subversive topics delivered in Cartman’s most vulgar fashion. Not for the faint of heart, nor the easily offended!

5. Kratos – The Strong, Silent (Dad) Type

  • One of gaming’s most powerful and charismatic voices, Kratos of God of War would command any Waze journey with gravitas.
  • He’s a man of few words in-game, but in the context of navigation, maybe he’d share more “information,” perhaps with less rage and more paternal wisdom. Who wouldn’t want Dad-of-the-Year Kratos getting you home safe?

Special Mention – For the True Adventurers at Heart

  • Maybe you like your directions delivered with maximum vocabulary and wit. Groot—yes, the one who only knows three words—might make your eight-hour drive feel like it lasted minutes. (Okay, maybe not the most useful, but certainly the most… unique!)
  • Or maybe the Smurfs? Their fun voices would definitely add a comic spin, even if you already know the way by heart.

Bring on the Fun: Waze, Make It Happen!

Waze already has a delightful parade of quirky voices, but wouldn’t any of these personalities be a treat to greet you every morning? Whether it’s Mario’s enthusiastic “Let’s-a-go,” Geny G’s sassy flair, Goku’s infectious excitement, Cartman’s adult-only humor, or Kratos’s stoic presence, there’s something here for every mood and every trip.

So, for every fan stuck in a traffic jam, here’s hoping Waze keeps the surprises coming. After all, if your only travel company is your GPS, why not choose someone you’d actually invite on a road trip?
