Mistral AI announced at its summit “Mistral AI NOW” the creation of a third data center, located in Les Ulis in the Essonne department.
With a capacity of 10 MW, the site is slated to open in the third quarter of 2026. Arthur Mensch, CEO of Mistral, noted that it will be “dedicated to inference in order to deliver integrated solutions for our customers.”
The Ulis site sits within Digital Realty’s Paris South campus, one of Europe’s largest digital hubs. The American operator hosts the 10 MW compute cluster in an environment optimized for AI workloads, including cooling technologies suited to high-density deployments.
The Digital Realty platform connects thousands of companies, digital service providers, and technology partners within a single ecosystem. For enterprise clients, this translates into low-latency access to Mistral AI’s services.
NVIDIA and VAST Data for the infrastructure layer
The Ulis site hosts one of Europe’s largest deployments of NVIDIA GPUs GB300 NVL72.
Mistral Compute, which operates the infrastructure, has selected VAST Data for data management. The VAST AI Operating System platform unifies data access, governance, and performance across the fleet, with no duplication or silos.
It covers all data types that an AI production infrastructure relies on: files, tables, vectors, KV cache and persistent memory for agents.
VAST is already in production at Mistral Compute, with additional capacity being brought online.
Beyond the hardware, Mistral AI has acquired Koyeb, the publisher of a serverless platform designed for intensive AI processing and the execution of inference tasks on CPU and GPU.
The stated objective is to “master the entire value chain, from the application layer to the hardware.” The Ulis site should also enable Mistral to reduce its dependence on third-party compute providers by taking direct control of its inference capacity.
