Starting April 1, 2025, Marc Camus will take over the role of Chief Information Officer (CIO) at the BNP Paribas Group, succeeding Bernard Gavgani. Camus will be joining the Group’s Executive Committee and will report directly to Philippe Maillard, the Chief Operating Officer.
In a statement released by the bank, it was emphasized that “as Group CIO, Marc Camus will continue to develop and strengthen BNP Paribas’ IT strategy, benefiting our clients and all entities within the Group.” This transition signals a strategic move to reinforce the bank’s technological leadership and operational resilience across its global operations.
Bernard Gavgani will remain affiliated with BNP Paribas, remaining part of the company as a Senior Advisor to the General Management. In this capacity, he will report to Yann Gervannin, BNP Paribas’ Deputy Managing Director responsible for the Corporate & Institutional Banking division. His new role will involve supporting key clients and suppliers in the technology sector, leveraging his extensive experience to strengthen relationships and drive innovation.
Camus has a longstanding history with BNP Paribas through its Belgian subsidiary, BNP Paribas Fortis, where he served as CIO. His entire professional career has been within the BNP Paribas group since 2009, and he has cultivated a deep expertise in financial technology and strategic IT management.
This leadership change reflects BNP Paribas’ ongoing commitment to digital transformation and technological excellence as core facets of its business strategy.
