Cohesity strengthens its French footprint. The American software maker, positioning itself as a leader in AI-powered data security, announces the appointment of Mathias Michiels as France Country Manager. Based in Paris, he will lead the local commercial teams with the aim of accelerating Cohesity’s growth in a market it views as strategic.
A Career Forged in the Big Leagues of Software
Mathias Michiels arrives with more than 15 years of experience in the software industry. He began his career in account management at Oracle and SAS Institute, before dedicating more than a decade to VMware. There, he rose through the ranks to become Senior Sales Director for Tanzu solutions across the SEMEA region, leading a cross-functional team of 80 people. That stint helped him build a recognized expertise in hybrid cloud, application modernization, and digital workspaces.
Cyber-resilience, the Watchword
His mandate at Cohesity goes beyond pure sales leadership. Mathias Michiels will have to drive a shift in market perception: making Cohesity not merely another data protection solution, but a full-fledged partner in organizational cyber resilience capable, according to the company’s promise, of surviving cyberattacks and emerging “stronger, smarter and more reliable.”
The timing works in his favor. “We are at a moment equally critical for French businesses and organizations in the face of accelerating cyber threats,” acknowledges the new Country Manager. For Matthieu Gross, Cohesity’s Sales Director for Southern Europe, “his arrival marks a key milestone for our growth and ongoing success in the region.”
