Atos Rolls Out Microsoft 365 Copilot to All Employees

Atos will roll out Microsoft 365 Copilot to all 56,000 employees spread across 54 countries.

The technological foundation chosen is Microsoft 365 E7, a suite that brings together in a single package Microsoft 365 Copilot, the security and compliance features of Microsoft 365 E5, and Microsoft Agent 365.

Atos thus becomes the first French enterprise systems integrator of global scale to deploy this solution, and one of the first companies worldwide to run the Microsoft 365 E7 suite from its general availability. A self-declared “customer zero” stance, aimed as much at transforming the group internally as at lending credibility to its offering with clients.

« This is the most significant technology investment Atos has made in its teams in a generation, » says Frédéric Aubrière, the group’s chief digital and information officer (photo).

Agent governance, a central challenge

Beyond Copilot in everyday tools (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint), Atos is also rolling out Microsoft Copilot Studio and Microsoft Foundry to design and operate dedicated agents for its IT services, its business functions, and its clients.

The governance of these agents is one of the project’s nerve centers. Through Microsoft Agent 365, Atos intends to manage a population already estimated at 19,000 AI agents within a single solution, covering both agents acting on behalf of users and those operating with their own credentials. The whole is integrated into the security workflows already in place across the group.

For a company present in highly regulated sectors (defense, financial services, health, public administration), this consolidation of identity, security, and compliance into a unified control plan is a sine qua non for deployment.

Atos’ strategy rests on three pillars: agentic AI for critical environments, digital sovereignty, and cybersecurity. By transforming itself first, the group intends to industrialize these capabilities before offering them to its clients, particularly in regulated sectors where trust in the infrastructure is non-negotiable.

These capabilities will be integrated into the sovereign agentic AI studios that Atos is building, with the stated aim of putting AI into production safely within complex organizations.
